永远的毁灭公爵免安装版是1996年开始制作的一款射击类游戏但是由于不断的更换系统引擎与推翻重做，就算到了2010年的3DRealms宣布倒闭，但是这一部经典的作品一直在放出没有结束的消息。到了2010年永远的毁灭公爵正式放出消息来。随后在9月正式推出了永远的毁灭公爵。游戏依然不会拥有太多的剧情，只要玩家不怕血，就能够玩的下去，在本次都等待如此之久的作品中依然是以简单的剧情与那邪恶Dr. Proton所占领的Area51神秘军事基地，想借此发达战争，玩家们必须去阻止这次阴谋与那些外星生物展开战斗。游戏的背景依然是带着神秘感的外星场景。游戏里可以使用各种各样的武器，如手枪、自动步枪、狙击枪、火箭炮与镭射枪等等。

众所周知，永远的毁灭公爵这类游戏没有什么剧情，只要玩家能杀能砍，并且知识兔见血不会头晕就成，本次的毁灭公爵也是如此，剧情相当的简单，游戏的背景是邪恶的Dr. Proton占领了位于Nevada郊外的Area 51神秘军事基地，并且知识兔还控制了Area 51的太空船。想借此发动战争，为了阻止他知识兔的主角Duke Nukem又要一展其英雄本色，消灭那些讨厌的外星生物和骷髅兵。
游戏的场景依旧是在充满神秘感的外星球，那种苍茫寂廖
的地方总能让人产生杀戮之心。一只只目光狰狞的怪兽向你袭来，你要做的就是举枪，射击。要消灭那些可恶的怪兽，武器是少不了的，在游戏中将会有各种各样的武器出现，除了一般的常规武器如手枪、自动步枪、狙击枪等之外，也有新武器包括火箭炮和镭射枪等等。
拿着这些武器在游戏世界里冒险杀敌实在是件快乐的事。此外利用游戏中的交通工具如电雪橇、煤矿车、喷射客机、直升机等等能够帮助玩家完成更多的高难度动作。而知识兔的主角Duke也可以在受伤时吃点补药救急。

这些秘技里感觉最爽的是时间静止功能，你可以静止时间以后用Devastator对着BOSS打光，然后知识兔解除时间静止看一大片炮弹同时飞向BOSS。话说早期的FPS游戏大多都有秘技，无敌、所有武器、穿墙等是标准配置，用秘技虐敌也是很爽的
